I just moved into a brand new house. I have a big open area which includes the kitchen, breakfast area, and family room. My theme for my kitchen and breakfast area is coffee. I have plaid curtains, which include the colors brown, black, and ivory. In my family room, I have a dark sage couch, and my coffee table and end tables are black metal with earth-tone colored stones on top. I have one window in the family room. I would like to put a valance on that window…what color of curtain would go well in that room? Does it need to match the curtains hanging in the breakfast area?

My living room is in the process of being re-done. My walls are a gold coin color, we have a medium-dark green sofa (with accents of maroon and gold in it), the wood in the room will eventually be a dark grain wood, and the trim is antique white (ivory). I am confused as to what would be a good color for curtains. I know brown would look good, but I want to avoid putting too much brown in my house. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I bought a lilac comforter set, I would like to use a blue hue (not sure what blue). But would like suggestions of other colors to use as well.

i just painted my living/dining room last weekend with a beigey color i love, but its looking a little blah now. couch is purple, chair and 1/2 and is army green, side chair purple. white trim and dark mohagany tv armoire, sofa table and book case. curtains are a darker beige chenille. anyone have an idea for an accent color? i was thinking red, but i’d like some other options. i’d like to bring in this color with pillows, accessories and artwork. specific items much appreciated. thank you!

I have these shear, panel curtains, and they desperately need washing (I’ve never washed them before). They’re not the thick type of curtains. They’re see-through and very light-weight - basically the curtains you put underneath the REAL curtains. They’re color is like an ivory or cream.

Is there a way to wash them? If so, what temperature, and do you use bleach? Also, how do you dry them? Thanks!
