Will my flight get delayed or cancelled due to snow?

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Hi all, I have a flight tomorrow to Orlando from Davenport, IA. We are predicted to get 4 to 6 inches of snow. Starting at midnight and will end around 9am. My flight is scheduled to leave at 6am and is the first flight out of the day. Also, the plane we will be taking arrives the night before so we don’t have to wait for a plane to arrive. We are just getting nervous since we are taking the kids to Orlando for the week. Weather there is supposed to be ideal. Thanks for your input.

What happens if you’re not home to shovel the snow within 24 hours?

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

i just heard on the news that homeowners have 24 hours to shovel their sidewalk after a snowstorm and if it’s not, you get a citation. in addition to that, the city can fine you on top of the citation if the city has to come out and shovel the snow for you. what happens if nobody is home? what if you’re on vacation for a week and obviously you’re not home to shovel the sidewalk? how can they possibly enforce that law?
i’m in the washington dc area

We are getting 6 inches of snow, and 1/4 inch of ice tonight through the day tomorrow, could school be delayed?

Friday, August 21st, 2009

We are under a Winter Storm Warning until Wednesday Night and we are forecasted to get 6 inches of snow with ice and freezing rain tonight through tomorrow. Could school be delayed? Our school districts always delay for anything above 3 or 4 inches on snow. Is this possible?

I live in the Pittsburgh area, north of Allegheny County.

Stuck in the snow with my camaro?

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

I live in Northern Indiana and we just had a huge snow storm. This is my first year with a 2001 Z28. I knew it had real wheel drive but I never anticipated how poor camaros are in winter driving. Any tips for improved performance in these icy and snowy conditions for my camaro?

What are some good doggie snow boots?

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

I’m taking my dog to the snow in 2 weeks and we want to walk around with him on the trails but there’s snow everywhere and I want to make sure his paws are safe and warm. Has anyone used any dog snow booties? If so, how did they work out? Which ones did you get and where can I get some?

BTW: I always hear about some salt in the snow that’s bad for dogs? What does this mean? What’s up with salt, snow, and dogs?

Probability of good snow in alps ski areas in late December?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I’m looking for a ski area for the last week of december, and I’m afrayed that with Murphy’s laws I’ll order the one with least snow, as it’s an early week of the season. Any suggestions how can I be more sure? Any websites that specialize in that maybe? Thanks for any help!
Maybe a website that classes the areas by good and bad chances of early snow this year based on seasonal forecasts…
